coLab brings out the best in collaboration and heads-down work. The space provides a focused environment for members to get their projects done while benefiting from others to bounce ideas off or contribute. The exact mix of those two is up to each member.
coLab is open to creative and technology professionals, solopreneurs and freelancers, and small teams and startups. Some examples are animators, illustrators, web developers, programmers, designers, project managers, graphic artists, network admins, entrepreneurs, etc. Because the space is designed to be collective in nature, all members are encouraged to help the space function and grow.
In order to maintain an environment of like-minded individuals, there is an application and casual interview process for any potential new members. This is to ensure that there’s a good fit between the space and each new member.
While freelancers enjoy the freedom of working from home and coffee shops, these locations don’t offer much in terms of collaboration. coLab provides a space where individuals can work and collaborate with like-minded colleagues in the tech field. It’s also a networking and social space where events such as Startup Weekend and Hack-nights are run.
Rates start at $30 for part-time, and $300 per month for a full-time membership.

The coLab is located in The Switchboard building at 1405 St. Paul Street in downtown Kelowna. It is a hub for technology companies in the Okanagan and is centrally located and close to all amenities. Queensway Bus terminal is two blocks away, there is bike storage located in the building, and parking is available for a reasonable monthly fee.
Aside from the immense value in surrounding yourself with like minded collagues, coworkers and potential clients? The space is also used to host technology events and members have priority access to these. Members also have access to the many events put on by Digital Okanagan and Accelerate Okanagan.
