Hi everybody! I am SUPER excited to share with you that I recently accepted the position of Community Manager at the @kelownainnovationcentre! You may have seen this on my stories but if not, NOW YOU KNOW! (Anyone? Anyone?? 😜) . My new role encompasses events management, digital communications — including social media — PR, and visual arts curation. It’s a diverse and dynamic position that brings together pretty much all of my skills into one job, and I’m super amazed and grateful to have found myself with a contract like this one. 💛 . All of that to say, if you want to chat about anything arts and tech in downtown Kelowna (or you’re looking for a small theatre to rent!), you can email me at [email protected]! I would be happy to hear from you and to talk about how we can build community and celebrate innovation together in this amazing place we call Kelowna! ☀️ . PS. I found my name on the chalk wall this morning, which was another lovely surprise 🥰 Thanks to the person who thought to add it! . . . #kelowna #kelownanow #innovatekelowna #hellokelowna #hellobc #bctech #ylw #okgn #okgntech #okanaganlifestyle #okanagan #kelownaculture #laurenlionspeak #🦁

4 days, 7 cities, 135 km, 200+ participants, $8,635 raised. . The Stigma Stroll was a great success! . We’ve started conversations about mental health and have paid for 72 counselling sessions. . But there’s more: all of the donations are being matched by a private philanthropist so that means we can now provide 144 counselling sessions through Third Space Life Charity. . To all of the participants, donors, sponsors, supporters, and to those who have the courage to speak openly about mental health. Thank you. From the bottom of my heart. . The goal of the Stigma Stroll is to end the stigma around mental health and help provide access to counselling. But I had a more personal motivation. . My name is Reid. And I struggle with depression. I’m no longer ashamed to admit that. . . ps: you can still donate at www.stigmastroll.ca 👍🏻
